Thank you for taking time to think about these things an share with others so we can all move toward greatness together:)
Self-reflection is often difficult because it requires us to be honest and vulnerable, but we cannot become a better self if we don't know where to start. The following question may be challenging for you because you are all doing so well already, but we can always get better. How would you describe your level of participation in rehearsals? Are you a great listener? Do you listen to yourself, others, the director? Are you fully prepared for rehearsals, which includes having all materials and practicing prior to rehearsal? Do you ask questions and strive to get better? What do you best contribute to the choir? How can you become a better choir member?
Thank you for taking time to think about these things an share with others so we can all move toward greatness together:)

I participate fully in almost all rehearsals. The only time I am not participating is when we have to do important tasks for choir council. I am a great listener. I can't always get the notes by myself but if I can listen someone singing the notes than I can usually get it. Yes I listen to others, myself, and the director. I always have my music and materials. I also practice at home. I don't always ask questions because I don't always have questions. I best contribute my leadership to the choir. I am always on task and work hard to get others on task and doing what they are supposed to. I could become a better choir member by moving around in my section more. I usually sit in the exact same spot everyday. I could become a better choir member if I moved around and got to know more people better.

I participate really well in choir the only time I don't participate is when I am either asking someone for help, because I am confused or I am doing something Choir Council related. I am a good listener unless I start to daze off and then I become off track. I do listen to myself and others when I'm trying to find the right part. I also listen to the director especially when, I'm confused on a section of music. I am prepared for rehearsals, but I do not practice at home. I don't usually asks questions because I usually get help from the people around me and I want to get better. I contribute best to choir with being in Choir Council. I could be a better choir member by practicing at home.

You would be amazed on how much better you'd become if you just practice at home a little. Mrs. Jackson works very hard on the tracks so I can post them on the website for you to use. If everyone did a few minutes of at-home practice each day, we could get so much more accomplished. Imagine if I didn't have to teach notes/rhythms and we could just work on musicality....ah, one can always dream big:)

I participate the best I can at each rehearsal. I find that often times I get distracted but other than that I feel I pay good attention during class. I listen to others, myself and directors the best I can. I am usually prepared for rehearsals, the only times that I am not really prepared is when I have to turn something in because I am not the greatest at remembering to bring things in. I don't usually ask my teachers questions, just the people around me. One thing I think I do well is helping people, I am pretty good with counting and Solfège, so if people around me ever need help i try to help them as much as I can. One thing i can do to become a better choir student is to practice more at home. I have practiced at home, just not enough, and i feel like that would make me a much better choir student.

I try my hardest to participate in choir. When we are learning new music, like we are now, I try to listen to the other people around me so I can find the correct pitch that we are supposed to be on. I also try to listen to Mrs.Slimko and Mrs.Jackson because they can both help out when you are stuck on a part in the music and they will give you the correct notes and pitches so that you know what is going on when we sing that part in the music. I try to get to class as early as I can so that I can pull out the songs that I need to work on the most and look them over so that I will be prepared even more when we are singing that song. When I get stuck on filling in the solfege I will try to go and ask my section leader or others around me to see if they know what the measure starts on if I do not know. When we are practicing our songs I try to memorize the lyrics so that I can sing out and give more sound. I could become a better choir member by bringing home all of my music to look over so that when I go to class I will be more confident in what I am singing.

Since I am a senior that means that this is my last year of choir. I have always heard from previous choir members how much they miss choir after they graduate. In the past I have always been very quiet, this year I am working on singing out and also asking more questions if I have any. Everyday I truly feel like I come to class prepared with all my music, pencil and anything else I need for class that day. I do participate everyday in class and always give my best effort. I am very excited for the rest of this year! :)

I think I participate fully during rehearsals. I sing out and listen for important details, but occasionally am talking to my neigbor when I shouldn't be. I believe I am a good listener and pay attention to details and directions when given. I listen to myself when singing, others to make sure I'm on my part, and the director when she is talking. I am almost always prepared for rehearsals with my music, but on occasion I don't have a pencil which is necessary. I ask questions to the people around me to make sure I am fully aware of what's going on. I contribute when it comes to knowing my part and singing out, also when choreography is being taught I always know it. I can become a better choir member by participating in more functions this year and helping others around me who might be struggling.

My level of participation in Choir is a very high one. I may not participate to answer questions since I may not always know the answer, but I am always singing and trying my hardest to help me and my Tenor group to do our best. Being a Tenor is pretty difficult since I am not used to singing that high, but I do my best to sing the right notes and have my classmates get their pitch right. I think that I am a great listener and take in information from everyone. I prepare for rehearsals by paying attention and really learning my part to the best of my ability. I ask some questions to get better, but I should ask more. I contribute my Falsetto voice as a Tenor to help them out and get us to be louder and balance the choir. I can become a better choir member by singing out and making sure I do the best job I can.

Everyday I try my best throughout the activities we are working on. Although I will admit some days are harder than others. Yes I believe I'm a good listener. I always try to listen to my section while we are learning new music. Everyday this year I have come to class fully prepared. I tend to be more quiet than others but I do ask the people around me questions when needed. I can become a better choir member by bringing home all of our music to look over a couple times before class the next day.

I feel like I am increasingly becoming more open and less shy to choir, I came in and I truly was nervous about my voice but after a little bit of blending in I now feel that it's easier singing with a crowd than by myself. I also feel like the "choir family" has been very open to me joining and that is probably one of the biggest reasons I have become more responsive to the class, it's a great way to start the day.

I give my all in choir everyday. Somedays are harder and I have less to give but regardless I always try my best. The past week I was sick so some days my best was just following along with the music and singing when I could but I always make sure I am participating, listening, and learning something new every class period. I always make sure I am prepared for class. Another way I could be a better choir member is I could more often time go out of my way to help others and make sure they understand the music.

I participate and try my hardest in choir every day. I always try to listen to myself during warm-ups and rehearsals, but I'm also always trying to listen to other strong singers in my section to make sure I'm staying on the note. I always listen to our director to make sure I know where we are in our music, and to make sure I know what I am supposed to be doing. I ask questions to people around me or one of the leaders in the choir if I'm confused on something new we are learning or if I don't know what part of the song we are rehearsing. To improve myself I need to practice more at home and make sure in class I don't let my friends around me distract me from learning and staying engaged. I do tend to get off task because of others around me. Some days in choir might be harder for me, but I'll always do my best to stay engaged in what is going on in class. I've always been a shy and very quiet person and I've been trying to work on that. I wanna do more for our choir and participate a lot more. I would love to help others around me a lot more. :)

My participation in rehearsals i would say are good, I don't let people around me distract my learning and how i focus. I feel as though i am a great listener, i drowned out the talking around me and only listen to what is being instructed of me. I always ask questions, it may not be to you always but, I always ask my section leader questions, and advice on how i can better myself as a singer and a member of the choir. I contribute to the choir the best i can by helping others and answering any questions they may have if i can. The way i can become a better choir member is to help people more often and volunteer to more than i already am.

My participation in rehearsal every day, I think is good. Last week it wasn't so much because I was getting over that sickness that was going around the school. I am good at finding the starting pitch right away so it is not very hard to get off task in choir. My efforts are high as it also being my 7th year in choir. I try and sit in the rows behind more this year to help some of the girls find their starting pitch for the altos. In choir I contribute all that I can because choir is my favorite class of the day.

I can describe my participation in choir as pretty high. I can do solfege and am able to help others. I can focus better during choreography days. I listen when the director is talking, and to others, especially during sectionals when we are practicing our part. When I attend rehearsals in the morning, I have all of my things ready to go. I strive to become a better leader for not only the choir, but for the Soprano 1 section. Even though I am not the oldest or best singer in the group, I try to make sure we are in unity at all times during rehearsal. There is always room for improvement when you think you've mastered a song or a part. If a section or a part is already strong, you have the power to make your sound grow and become better. :)

I would describe my level of participation a solid 8.5 out of 10. I try to listen to myself but really, I think I'm tone deaf. It's definitely a work in progress. I try my best to listen to others but sometimes I question if the people around me are singing. I think the altos have such great potential but we need some push. I come with prepared with everything I need for rehearsal. I ask questions but I'm sure there's always more questions I could ask. I best contribute my socialness to choir. I think people feel a welcoming essence when I talk to them in choir. I could start trying to lead more to help the choir and my section.

I practice my songs at home and make sure to pay attention in class when it is time to get down to business. I listen to those who are able to help me and that makes me a better member of the choir. If I don't understand something or if I do not know a part in one of our songs I ask whoever is sitting next to me if they can sing it for me or ask my section leader to go over the part with me a few times. There is always room for improvement and I do my best so I can get a little better everyday. I contribute to the choir by singing out and helping others as much as I can. To become better I could socialize more by moving around the room and sitting in different areas to get to know the people within my section.

I feel like i could participate a little more, but I also feel like I wouldn't get called on anyway. I feel like I'm not a great listener, I daydream all the time, even in class lectures, but I try my best to keep my head out of the clouds during choir so i know whats going and what to do. I focus less on myself and others, and more on the whole. I do listen to myself sometimes, and others more, but i feel like listening to the choir as a whole can reveal how we can improve ourselves. Sometimes I'm prepared, sometimes im not. Im very forgetful (im literally the girl that walked our after fifth hour cus she forgot 6th hour existed XD), so sometimes I'll forget to grab something. I don't strive to better myself or ask questions much, but i feel like i should. I think i best contribute my voice, because im not much of leader, or even a helper. People often compliment me on my ability to sing the correct lyrics and words, or even just my voice in general, and sometimes i feel its over exaggerated, but I know that its a good quality of mine. I can become a better choir member by participating more, giving suggestions, asking about things i think we [the Altos] need to improve on.

I have really enjoyed being apart of the choir this year so far. Everyone is so supportive and makes me feel in a healthy environment which provokes me to participate more in class and not be afraid of putting myself out there. I always do my very best in participating in choir. I have learned that the more I participate in rehearsal and solfege exercise, the more concepts I can apprehend more efficiently which will help me become a better student mentally and musically. This allows me to contend why I try my best everyday to strive to be a better individual as I was the previous day. If I ever have a question, I won't hesitate to ask my section leaders or solfege leaders because I know that they will help me in the best possible way that they can. I have observed that there indeed are many great leaders that are always on their best game everyday. I really try my best to look up to these role models and be the best I can be. Sometimes this can be hard for me because I stress out a lot about things and I need to learn to just let things go. The choir has been so supportive to me and I have created many strong bonds between choir members and choir class just connects us even more. I always listen to my peers and to the teacher as well. If there is ever a part that I don't understand or need review over, I will always go on the website and just recheck over my part. This helps me so much knowing that I can hear my part over and over as many times as I need it until I have confidence with that part and can sing it with composure and the right vocal techniques. For example, I had regionals for golf on Wednesday and that is when we learned that girls song. I was so lost when we went over that song on Thursday so this weekend I went to the website and looked over that part until I understood it and could sing it efficiently. Because of this I can contend that I am prepared for rehearsals at all times. I contribute to the choir because I feel like I always know my soprano 2 part and am not afraid to sing that out for others to get a better grasp for that too. I can become a better choir member by going around and providing help for other choir members who do not know their part. This way everyone in the choir can be fully engaged to make beautiful music that everyone contributes to equally and as one team.

I would describe my level of participation in choir as very good. I am engaged and listen to my part and others, and if I don't pick it up right away, I am tuned in 100% to learn it. I listen to you, Mrs. Jackson, and the people around me and if I feel like my section is not understanding completely, I ask to review our part again. I come prepared to class with my materials, and I try to practice at home, but I do feel that I need to make that more of a priority. When you ask questions, I may not always raise my hand, but I am thinking the answer in my head most of the time. So, I feel that I should raise my hand more often and answer out loud. I feel that I contribute someone who knows their part very well and someone to turn to if there are questions about solfege, counting, or parts. I believe I can improve as a choir member by becoming more a leader and reaching out to people and working on my facial expressions.

I do listen to myself, Mrs. Slimko, other section leaders, other parts, people, and Mrs. Jackson as best I can. I need to make sure I am more prepared for rehearsals; sometimes I forget to bring my binder back after I had it at home to practice. I ask questions as frequently as I feel necessary and of course, I am attempting to better myself and the choir with every action I take. I feel that I contribute to the choir as being an active participant who others can ask questions and look to if they are unsure about a part. I can become a better choir member by listening to each person in my section more and interacting with people, even those who are not my close friends. In addition, I need to push myself to practice even more outside of school, especially using the website.

I try my hardest to participate and listen in choir, but I'm not going to lie there are definitely some days where I am more distracted than others. I always strive to find ways where I can improve myself, or how my section could be stronger. On the days where I am more distracted, I still try to be respectful and make sure I'm not bringing the choir down. I'm a good listener, but there are definitely some times when I could have more focus. I love choir and I cannot wait for the wonderful year ahead of us!!!!

I would say my participation in choir has been pretty good. I've had my days where I felt like I couldn't for personal reasons, but other than that I think I have done pretty well. I would say yes I am a great listener. I listen to see what it is we have to fix in the songs and what Mrs. Slimko wants us to do in each song. I am always prepared and I try to get better every day in something. I believe that I contribute my willingness to try harder. To become a better choir member I need to look over a few of the songs more because there are a couple of parts in Danza and in Alway Something Sings that I really need to work on.

I participate in every rehearsal with 80% effort, if not higher everyday. I think I'm actually a better listener than I am a speaker, but listening can be hard sometimes due to a lack of concentration. I listen to all three, myself, the leaders, and the director. Most of the time I am prepared for rehearsal's, there is only a hand full of times that I am not. Yes, I do ask a lot of questions, usually to the nearest section leader and occasionally Mrs. Slimko, and I strive to get better and encourage my class mates to every day. I feel as though I contribute my positive personality to the choir, by simply smiling at people if they look upset, or if no one is sitting by them I'll pull up my chair and start a conversation. I could definitely become a better choir member by practicing more at home, and being more bold and courageous during class.

I would describe myself as an active choir member. I am a good listener, and I listen to myself and those around me. I am always fully prepared for rehearsals. I strive to get better and will continue to do so. Something I contribute to the choir is always trying to help people have a better day, and always listening to my part and knowing it. I can become a better choir member by asking those around me if they need help once I understand my part. :)

I do my best to be an active listener in choir class. I listen to those around me in order to make sure I am singing the correct notes. I come to rehearsals fully prepared and ready to learn. If I am unsure of anything, I make sure to ask my section leader or a sight reading leader to clarify. I always try to do my best in class in order to help our choir to be successful. I can become a better choir member by helping others around me if they need it.

My level of participation in rehearsals has increased in the past two weeks because the concert is getting so close. I like to think I'm a good listener, maybe not great though. I listen to myself, others and the director. I am fully prepared for rehearsals with materials, although sometimes I find it hard to focus really well in the mornings. It has gotten better in the past few weeks though. I do ask Grace for confirmations on solfege or rhythm when I can't get it. I try to be a positive influence and know my part so I'm able to help others when they need it. I can become a better choir member by practicing at home and always participating fully in rehearsals.

I love choir! I have some off days but for the most part I have a high level of participation in rehearsals. I am an okay listener, sometimes I daydream and don't always hear important information. I need to work on that. I should ask more questions when I am confused about something. I usually ask Kendal if I have a question but it never hurts to ask more questions! I contribute to the choir with my positive attitude. I can become a better member by giving 100% effort whenever I can.

I work very hard in rehearsals and I really try to take in everything you say and listen with my ears and my heart, I try to listen to other as well like my section leader Hannah. I really try to be fully prepared but sometimes I just don't have as much time. I strive to get better in every class but especially choir because of how much it means to me. I contribute an accurate pitch for others to hear when they don't know the exact one. I become a better choir member by practicing at home and learning form the parts online.

I generally participate to the best of my ability, though sometimes I'm very tired and just can't quite get there. I am surprisingly good at listening for a man who never shuts up. I'm always prepared for rehearsals. I generally attempt to figure things out instead of asking people about them, which is both good and bad. I don't know what I best contribute to the choir. I could become a better choir member by working on my weak points, such as my facial expressions (or lack thereof).

My level of participation in rehearsals, depending on the day, can range from a 6 to a 9. I believe I'm a good listener. I listen a lot to everyone in my section and make sure to listen to directions! I always have my materials and try to go over my music before class and in my free time. If I have a question I usually ask those sitting around me and my section leader. I hope I bring positive energy to choir and encourage the same from others. In order to become a better choir member, I can give more effort on bad days and sing more confidently when I am certain I know my part.

I participate pretty well in choir most days. The only time that I feel I'm not participating to my fullest is if I am asking for help or I am sick. My level of participation ranges from a 4 on days when im not feeling good to a 9 on almost all of the other days. Sometimes I get distracted when other people are talking to me, but I try my best to stay focused and on task.

I would say that overall I would rate my participation level to be a 9/10. There may be some exceptions on days where I am not feeling 100%. I do need to work on practicing more outside of class because I know that would help bennefit myself and the choir. However, one of my strong suits is listening. I do my best to listen to the director and my peers. There have been times where I haven't been fully prepared but it is something that I am working on!

I pay attention during almost every part of each rehearsal. I would rate myself an 8 out of 10 on a day when I'm not feeling too great, and a 9, sometimes 10 on a good day! When we are learning new music, I follow along, write whatever Mrs. Slimko suggests on the music and listen to others around me so that I can learn the music well! One thing I do need to work on is practicing at home. This will really help me to perform with more confidence.

I would describe my level of participation in choir rehearsals as good. It feels amazing to be back in choir - it definitely felt like something was missing last year. I always pay attention and listen in class, but this year has really tested me. I've missed important days because of sickness or other reasons, but I always make sure to bring my music home when I miss class and go over the parts I missed. I listen to myself, others, and the director every day in class. I often focus on listening to others, especially in the alto section, and I am immediately able to hear if we're missing a part or singing something differently than it appears on the page. I am fully prepared for class every day with my music, but sometimes I forget a pencil. I often ask Kendal clarifying questions about parts or rythym if I hear something that sounds off in our section or I'm unsure about a note that I'm singing. One of my strengths is my ability to listen and pick up pitches quickly, as well as recognize when the correct pitches are not sung. I can become a better choir member by working harder to focus every day in class. I've tried to step up more this year, and I could do better by reaching out to people who need help in our section. I could also practice more at home and work hard to be 100% prepared for every rehearsal.

I would say that I am participating all of the time in choir, although some of the participation may be overboard sometimes. I am always listening to make sure that I do not miss something or forget because it is much easier to learn in the moment then after the fact. I listen to myself and the director, but I do not listen much to my peers haha. If I have a genuine question however, I will approach the section or sight reading leader for serious inquiries. I believe that my best contribution to the choir is my singing, especially when I am by someone who can match pitch well. Especially strong by Bradley and Mac because we can match pitch very well and make the songs sound great. I can become a better choir member by learning my choreography more thoroughly. Plus practicing at home more!

Honestly my level of participation can vary. Most days I always try to give my all and my best but I know that I have my days, and I'm sure all of us do, where I am not giving 100%. It's something that I try to fix and I always try to give it my all and do the best that I can do. I do listen to the things you say and if you tell altos to fix something or sing something a different way I will listen and try to make that change because I know you tell us to do these things to make us a better choir because you want what's best for us. Most days I come to class prepared but there are some days where I will forget something such as a pencil or my water. If I have questions usually I will try and ask a section leader first to see if they could help me. I am always trying to improve my skills and be better.

My level of participation this year has gone down.I think I am a great listener sometimes I misspell things but,I am usually on task.I always try to have my materials because sometimes I don't know a pitch but I pretty much know my part.I really do try to strive for better most of our section is on task and focused and we all kinda of help each other in some way.I think my leadership with the choir is what I best contribute I know middle school and elementary are looking up to me and I want to be a good role model.I can become a better choir member by actually helping out the section more when our section leader is not here and work hard everyday in rehearsals.

Yes, I do most of those things. I ask my section leaders when I am lost or confused. They are very helpful! I help others when they need it or when they ask. Also my parents donate to the choir during pops. I think I could become a better choir member by practicing outside class more than I do now.

In rehearsals I give the best that I can give for that day. I do think that I am a good listener, however sometimes I lose focus and forget to pay attention. I make sure to listen to the director and the people around me because those are the people that will help me get better. Everyday when I come to class I am prepared with all my music and/or other materials that I need. I can become a better choir member by asking questions and practicing more at home.

I participate in choir during every rehearsal. I could be more focused, and am going to work on that. I try my best to listen to everyone's opinions, especially yours Mrs. Slimko. I always come fully prepared to choir with a pencil and my music, as well as an abounding spirit for singing with the choir :). I literally question everything, including my own existence (why am I here!)! Everything should be questioned, especially in choir. Questioning helps us learn. I try to be a positive force in the choir, and I contribute by promoting liberty and justice for all. I can become better by being a better singer.

I would describe my level of participation as very high. I listen and follow directions well, and I do my best to help others do the same. I am almost always prepared with my music. Having it 100% of the time is probably something I could work on. Other than that I am well prepared for choir rehearsals because I know my notes, lyrics and choreography. I ask questions that I think will benefit myself and the rest of the choir. I think what I contribute most to the choir is my leadership. I am comfortable with taking the lead in problem solving and making things the best they can be.
