So, how are things going in choir? How are you improving? What do you still need to work on? What is your favorite fall concert song and why? Which song are you struggling with and why? What do you do outside of class rehearsal time to help you get better and become a more productive choir member?

Things in choir are going good. I'm improving on singing the right notes because i'm singing the right notes now. I still need to work on being faster at doing my solfedge. My favorite fall song is sylvie because i think it sounds the coolest. I'm struggling with the spanish song because the lyrics are hard. I haven't done anything outside of class.

Things this year as a sophomore are going good so far! I am improving a lot with me new songs that we got. If there was one thing I could work on it would be to get better with Solfege. My favorite fall concert song is The water is wide or Hermosas becuase they sound really pretty when we sing them as a choir.when we first got Hermosas the Spanish song it was hard to pronounce some of the words but once we got them I loved that song! Outside of choir My sister and I practice our songs and practice our dances! I am really looking forward to pops and the rest of this year!

this is really really late so sorry :( ill pretend like its still October:) Things are going great! I need to improve on sight reading I am not very good and I need to improve on counting. my favorite song was Sylvie because I think it has the most spirit and meaning in it and I like to sing it because my part goes well with my voice so that made it easier to sing. the hardest song for me was Hermosas because of the pronunciation. outside of choir I sing in my room to practice.

Choir is going pretty well for me and I'm getting the hang of it, learning names of notes and quizzes are tough for me but other than that its awesome, my favorite song for fall concert is Best Day, Free Ride, and Water is Wide, just because they have more a tempo i like, they're quick and faster paced, but i listen to a lot of music so i like variety as well, i am just starting to work on practicing outside of school but i have sports and homework and feel over-burdened but ill find a way to make everything work :)

Choir is going a lot better than what I expected it to. I'm improving slowly but surly , but my friends, that have been in choir for 7 years, help a bunch. My favorite fall concert song has to The Water Is Wide. I think that is a beautiful piece and is lovely to hear and sing. The song that I'm struggling with the most is Hermosas it's difficult to sing in a language that is not my native tongue. Outside of choir I try to study my lyrics every night and practice my sight reading.

Choir is going good so far, its going to be a very fun year i can feel it, choir is a great way to start my day. I have been trying to improve by tying to be on task and always having the right solfege and working hard and studying for the quizzes. I still need to work on being quieter and staying on task. My favorite song this fall is best day. I am struggling with Hermosas because its in Spanish and well, Spanish i hard sometimes. I try and study however i can when im not in choir on the quizlet page.

You have such a wonderful spirit and a great voice, but YES, you do need to work on focusing in class more. Others listen to you for pitches and correct notes and when you are off task and talking, it not only doesn't help them, it takes away from the rest of the choir:( You can do better. I believe in you!

Choir is going great this year. I think this the best year we have had for HS choir. Everyone seems to be giving their best effort. I am improving on singing in foreign languages. My favorite song is "Sylvie". I like how it is a capella and I love the beat. "Hermosas" is the hardest song for me. I took two years of Spanish, but it is still difficult to sing in a different language.

Choir is going really well this year. I am improving in my sight reading. I need to work on some of my songs, because I haven't memorized them fully. My favorite fall concert song is Sylvie, because I love the way it sounds and it is fun to sing. I am struggling with Hermosas, because seeing as it is in another language, it can be hard to say some of the words correctly. Outside of rehearsal time I look over all my songs and practice each one to make sure I know each part that I am singing.

Choir is going very good I just joined harmonic which I am very excited about. I am improving by learning Solfege from my section leaders. I need to work on hearing the notes more I hear them but not as much as I can. My favorite fall concert song is Bring me Little Water Sylvie because it has culture and you can hear that soul rhythm and beat. I think I'm struggling with the words to Hermosas because its very hard to pronounce the words I try to go over the songs with my music and then without music.

Choir is going fine. I am improving my vocabulary because I study for the quizzes. I still need to work on the spanish lyrics in hermosas ninfas que. Im not in spanish so the pronunciation is kind of a struggle. The spanish song is also my favorite because it is a challenge. Outside of class I study for tests and quizzes and I bring my binder home over the weekends to practice the songs.

Things are going great in choir and I am really improving with reading my music! It's not perfect, but it's much better so I can still work on it. My favorite song for the fall concert would either be The Water is Wide of Bring Me Little Water, Sylvie. The song I'm having the most trouble with would be is Hermosas, because of the pronunciation of the words. Something I do outside of rehearsal is listen to the audio on the site and listen to my part repeatedly until I understand it completely.

Things are going great this year! My favorite fall song is Kawuno! I just love the fast pace! My practice habits have improved since last year. I need to improve on Hermosas. The pronunciation is fine for me because I'm on my third year of Spanish, its just the notes and singing the words to the rhythm is challenging for me. I've been practicing every night when i get home on the website and now with my practice CD.

So far, choir has been great. This is the class that gets me out of bed every morning, and it starts my day on a positive note with all of these amazing people. Choir helps me begin with a clean slate every day; no worries or negativity. I've been improving on my sight reading and solfege lately. Our warm up activities alone have helped me significantly with improving on these. Studying for the note quizzes has aided me in learning as well. I still need to work on sound quality. I have to work on my voice adjustment to different kinds of songs, such as between "Best Day" and "Hermosas."

Things are going okay in choir. I wish I didn't miss all of that school I feel so behind. But, I do think that I am improving with my solfege. I'm definitely not the best, but I'm trying. My favorite fall concert song is 'The Water is Wide' because the song is so peaceful and refreshing. A song that I am struggling with is 'Bring Me Little Water Sylvie' not so much the lyrics, but more of the little dance that goes with it. It does not make sense. I know that if I work hard enough I will get it. I bring my choir folder home. If I didn't bring it home I would probably be way more lost than I already am. Hard work will get me there. I just really need to catch up.

Things are going great in Choir! As a singer, I feel like I am improving a lot this year with my tone, pitch, and overall sound. However, there is always room for improvement. I still need to work on memorizing my lyrics for Hermosas, as Spanish is not the easiest langauge for me... especially in song! My favourite fall concert song is Sylvie. I know it is not the most difficult piece, but I like the sound of it and the song itself puts me in a good mindset. As said before, I'm struggling with Hermosas, as the language is a little hard for me to pronunciate and memorize. Outside of choir, I'm constantly listening to the choir songs and memorizing my lyrics on my ipod, in the car, and at home.

Choir is going great this year! Everyone is working well together, and I feel like I've improved the tone of my voice. I've also learned to listen to every part in the song, not just mine. I still need to work on sight reading and projecting my voice. School and sports are very stressful right now and sometimes it's hard to be positive, but I am trying my best every day. My favorite fall concert song is Sylvie, because everyone sings with confidence and blends their parts together. Although it isn't the most difficult song, it seems to put everybody in a good mood. I am struggling the most with Hermosas. I can pronounce the words, but I have trouble associating them with the correct rhythm and solfege. Outside of class, I use the quizlet page to study. I also listen to recordings or performances of our songs by other choirs so I can learn more about dynamics. Listening to the audio on the site is also very helpful when I'm learning my parts.

Choirs going amazing so far! I'm happy with my decision to switch sections to the altos because I have more of a lower range. I feel like I'm getting better at being able to hear the notes and pitched and getting better at sight reading, though I still need to work on both quite a bit. I think my favorite fall concert song is Best Day because I've been going through hard times and I think it helps to tell yourself when you wake up that its going to be a good day and to not let the little things get you down. I'm struggling with Kawouno a little bit, it's an easy, repetitive song, so when we're reading it I get a little lost. I love all of the songs we perform in choir so I sing them constantly. They get stuck in my head and it makes me want to practice more. I have downloaded the songs on the website to my computer and I often listen to them while I do my homework.

Choir is good, school is good, life is good. Not too big of a fan of the fall concert songs this year but I'm sure they'll sound great. I need to work on my annunciation of hard consonants. I'm getting better at finding my pitch without help from a cue in the song. Hermosas sounds really good even though we haven't quite gotten it yet. Outside of class I constantly sing to myself. Things are going well for me in choir. However I don't like my grade right now I'm still confused on how to get my participation grade up. I am improving on a lot of things. I am starting to get much better at sight reading and being able to sing out. My favorite song for the fall concert is Sylvie because I like hearing all the different parts in the song. I am struggling a little bit with Hermosas because its hard getting the rhythm and trying to sing in Spanish. However over the past couple days I am getting much better. As practice I always sing in the shower and practice my songs. I try to see if I have memorized my part. I can become a more productive choir member by helping out other people in my section making sure they get their part so they can sing out without being afraid of messing up.

I think that I am really doing well in choir. It is really fun and I am enjoying myself. I am improving with my music reading skills because I did not have to do that at my old school. I probably still need to work on it some but im getting there. My favorite choir song is probably either the water is wide because it is such a beautiful song or bring me little water Sylvie because the song just has this soul to it that not all songs have. I probably struggle the most with hermosas just because of the fact that it is a Spanish song and it is difficult to fit the words into a rhythm. I practice after school sometimes and I love to just start singing our choir songs when the house is silent.

Things are good overall this year in choir. I am improving mainly with the sounds and range of my voice I can sing higher than I used to be able to. My favorite fall son err song is either the water is wide or sylvie. I like the water is wide because I love the lyrics and the overall tone set by the song. I like sylvie because of the solo part. the song I am struggling most with is her oasis because we haven't really fine tuned it as much as the others. What I do outside of class is I sing in my church choir. It is extra practice plus almost all of the hymns are completely in Greek so it's a different exposure.

Things in choir are going very well. I am improving with getting the right pitches but I still need to work on sight reading. I am struggling with Hermosas because its hard to get the right pronunciation. To get better outside of choir honestly I don't do much very often but sometimes I listen to the songs and practice my part.

Choir is going great! I can't believe it's my last year with this family. My favorite song in the fall concert is Sylvie. It's so fun to sing and I love doing the body percussion! My sight reading is getting better, which I'm very excited about. I'm mostly struggling with Hermosas. Memorization is hard when the song is in a different language. Outside of choir I have not done much to improve. However, with the fall concert coming up so quickly, I plan to start practicing more at home.

Hi Mrs. Slimko I just wanted to say that I'm completely love choir! It is my favorite class by far. I'm really looking forward to this year and all that its opportunities that it will bring . You are one of my favorite teacher. I love singing and dancing and that's what choir brings to me. I'm so excited to go to L.A. Because I'm a big fan of movies and acting and that sort of stuff. I'm always excited to go to class everyday because it's like seeing my second family and that's amazing. I was kind of sad that I didn't make choir council but I'm glad Andrea got it because she's an amazing choir student. Oh I just realized that this is really long! I guess I'll end it here so I hope everyone has a great year in choir! Bye!

Things are going well. I'm improving with my higher notes, but that's also what I need to work more on. My favorite song so far is Sylvie because I feel the most confident on and because it sounds really good with the whole choir. The one I need to work on more is Hermosas because I always forget what to do on page 7. Outside of class I don't do too much, but when I think of a song I start singing it and practicing my part just a little.

Things in choir are going great, and I’m really looking forward to the rest of the year. I am improving in many ways I think. One way that I am is that I learn my part faster so I can help others with it. Most of the songs I know, but I could still work on having my part compacted down. My favorite is Sylvie because it just has a positive take on things, it’s the one I know the best, and I love hearing Haley sing her part at the beginning of it. I’m not struggling with any of them at this point; I just need to get the confidence to sing out so others can hear the part. I will check parts with some people to make sure I have the correct part so I won’t stand out at the concert.

So far, choir is going well, I am excited for it to continue! Throughout the year, I have improved by having friends of mine help me (Grace, Emma) through parts I didn't understand and vice versa. I still need work on sight reading, but I'm getting there! My favorite song of the fall concert is Sylvie because it's so uplifting and fun to sing. The song I am struggling on most is the middle of Hermosas and facial expression for all of the songs. I know it will be a great concert! :)

Things in choir are going great for myself, but don't seem so great for some around me. I've witnessed more people bringing the team down in the last two weeks than I would've liked to see. Aside from that, however, I have a positive outlook and am excited to see what success those of us that are trying our best can bring in the future! I'm improving by surrounding myself with people in my section that continue to help me improve as a performer. I still need to work on giving as much effort as possible, even on tougher days. My favorite fall concert song is Hermosas, because not only does it give the altos a chance to show our talent, (I'm pretty biased) I think it will sound beautiful once we perfect it. The song I'm struggling with is Kawuono, because I mix up when we sing "Kawuono wan gi pi" and "Imiyo wan gi pi", and I'm also having a little bit of trouble with pitches toward the end of the song. However, I'm going to dedicate more time to practicing to try and fix that. Outside of class I use my practice CD and look at the lyrics to make sure I can come back to class a little better than the day before.

Choir this year is going good, I'm improving on singing the right notes. My favorite song is Sylvie because it is a happy song and we sound great. I'm having the most trouble on Hermosas because sometimes I have trouble putting the Spanish words in the right rhythm but it is getting much better. Outside of class I use the Quizlet page to study and also the audio on the website.

Choir is going great! I'm proving very well, especially being a section leader. I have became very active with helping others and making sure everyone is doing their part. I need to work on memorizing all the songs we are doing for choir and for harmonics. Theres a lot to learn! My favorite song would have to be Sylvie. I love how we added the percussion and everyone really gets into it, and i love seeing that happen! I am struggling a bit with Hermosas, just because I have always studied French and taking the transition between the two languages is a bit difficult. I attend church choir and help out with the childrens choir we have! I listen to my CD, and go over the lyrics in my head during the day. My mom has been helping me with Hermosas because she is fluent in spanish, so thats a big help! I am always talking about our choir, and telling people to come to our concerts! So many people love hearing us sing and supporting us, especially in our community!

Choir is going well this year so far. I can say that my section has fun and knows what to do (most of the time). Something I am worried about is the time that I spend with each section. I know the bass 3s have their part down and the bass 1s are doing well, but I am worried that I am not spending enough time with the tenors to connect with them and help if it is needed.

Choir is going okay this year and is definitely better than last year, though there are still a few people bringing the team down. I am improving on hitting the low notes on Hermosas and on my phrasing in The Water is Wide. My favorite song is Sylvie because I can relate to it, and it sounds fantastic when everyone locks in. I need to work on Kawouno the most because I want to go back down on the second set of wololores, rather than sing the correct notes. I memorized my lyrics outside of class.

Choir is going pretty good so far, I am surely enjoying myself. I think that one of my favorite songs for the fall concert would have to be 'Bring me little water, Sylvie'. I love everything about that song. But there is one song that I am still a little bit concerned about which is Hermosas, just some of the words are a little confusing. I am very excited to what the rest of this class brings, and I just love how everybody in the class make it so much fun, even when someone is having a good day. I wish I would have been in choir sooner, than now. Overall I am very excited to be doing my very first fall choir concert with this wondeful choir family.

Things in choir are going pretty well, depending on the day. I feel like when most everyone is giving 110% choir is SO great, but when there are those few people that couldn't care less about their performance, it's noticeable and brings the choir down with them. Those kind of days are not fun, but the great days make up for it. I'm improving something every day, whether it's finally getting a part that seemed impossible at first or just giving it my all. I need to work on the Harmonics songs and remembering dynamics and the right sections for La Lluvia. I don't have a favorite fall concert song because I like all of them, but There Will Come Soft Rains for Harmonics has to be at the top of the list because of the harmonies we create (that's why we're Harmonics duh!). I'm struggling mostly with the different sections of La Lluvia and remembering the words for The Water Is Wide. I sing the songs on my own time around the house and in the shower (no shame) when I get to thinking about them and it seems to be helping to improve my performance.

Choir is great. I absolutely love this choir because of the people in it. I have made new friendships with people I didn't think I'd be as close with as I am now. For example, Grace Goszkowicz, even though she's only a freshman, she is an amazing singer and has great leadership skills. She says hi to me every single day during choir, and that makes me feel great. Today, during both harmonics and 1st hour, I felt that I was singing out more because I could hear everyone, and we sounded like a choir. I need to work on the lyrics for some songs because I sometimes don't remember what verse is next. My favorite song in the fall concert is There Will Come Soft Rains because the harmonies sound really good. There is one part in Hermosas that I am struggling to remember, but I will know it by Thursday. Outside of class, I listen to the music online and our Harmonics cd.

My favorite fall concert song is free ride because it is fun to sing and dance to. A song that I need to work on would be Hermosas because some of the parts I feel that I don't know the notes too well. Choir is going super great this year! I really love everyday ending with either Rhythm of the Night or Best Day! I just get this awesome feeling inside and I feel really accomplished! Choir is just the best class of the day and I wish it was longer! I love coming together with everyone to enjoy music everyday! It's an awesome way to start a day :D I think the pen pal thing is really great and it's fun to see everyone's expressions every time they get a new note and every time they write one. This year is already starting to fly by, I can't believe our concert is TOMORROW! I am so excited! I am improving by using a lot more facial expression than I used to. I really need to work on projecting my sound more when I sing higher though. I cannot pick one favorite song! I love all of them :D But I suppose if it came down to it, it would be either Rhythm of the Night or Cantate :D Those songs are so much fun! I love getting to project my sound in Rhythm and all of the dance moves! It gets me so pumped for pops and the partner work in the winter concert. I also love it because everyone is smiling and putting out there full energy. I hope the audience see's everyone's smiles, energy and work that we put into all of our songs. I love Cantate because it's very well patterny :D It just has a cool ring to it and I love it when it gets to the cannon part. It is also really fun matching pitch with the trumpet on the last note :D I am slightly struggling with Oceanus, in trying to sing real loud at the "endlessly singing" part. But I am getting a lot better. Outside of class, I use the website to play the music for me. I try to run through the songs in front of my siblings every night. My sister gives me her thoughts. I hum the songs A LOT during school :D Sometimes you can hear people just start singing our songs through the halls. I also try to come to lunch rehearsal. I love choir, and I cannot wait to see how our choir grows. GO CHOIR!

I think choir is going really well. I cannot express enough how much the tenor section has improved so GO TENORS! I am improving by actually practicing at home which I can honestly say, I have done for POPS and Christmas concerts, but never Fall and I think that that has helped me tremendously. I still need to work on my expression and connecting with the lyrics. My favorite song is "The Water is Wide" because I absolutely love the lyrics and the way we sound when we all come together and sing. I am struggling with Hermosas because it is so beautiful and slow so I think it is a sad touching story when in reality, it is very uplifting and beautiful, so my facial expressions aren't matching the words we are singing. I am connecting with my section and even the whole choir a lot more which has helped me in a lot of ways. Knowing the whole choir has allowed me to acknowledge when someone is doing an amazing job at something and seeing someone get a part that they have been struggling with. Connecting with the choir outside of the actual class has been super beneficial and a bunch of fun because WE ARE ALL AWESOME AND WE ALL LOVE CHOIR SO ROCK ON MY FELLOW NORSEMEN!

So far, choir is good. I just wish I could sing next to Corinne more, but she is a 1 and I'm a 2 so it is hard to. I need to work on my breathing and not taking a breath in the wrong place. My favorite fall concert song is Sylvie because it is upbeat and fun to sing. I struggled with hermosas because it seemed like there weren't many people singing the right part in the soprano 2 section. I don't do anything outside of class, but I always have the songs stuck in my head throughout the whole day, so there's that.

Choir is going great I love it! I'm starting to sing the right notes (which I have failed to do last year). I need to work on my lyrics for water is wide and hermosas. I enjoy singing Sylvie and Kawouno with the choir because of the acapella. It makes the song very intricate. I need to improve on hermosas, The pronunciation of words are hard to catch on but I will improve on that. To improve I sing along to the music at home. Choir's going good! I'm improving in many ways with my expressions and how I sing. I need to improve on a little with expressions and sight reading my favorite fall concert song was bring me little water sylvie because I think it was just fun to sing and more of a laid back song where you can sing out. I was struggling with Hermosas because it was a little more difficult than the others and it was in Spanish so pronounciation was very important. Outside of class I do my lyrics and look over anything that I'm not sure of!

Things are doing good in choir. I am improving by listening to other people's voices and then matching my voice with theirs, I would need some help on knowing when to sing and when not to sing. My favorite concert was probably the one call "Refresh with Choir" because it was really my first concert and I really loved being in it. the song that I have a struggle with is "Hermosa's" because its kind of hard singing and learning pronunciation at the same time. I would listen to the songs outside of class so I can maybe sing along or just remember the melody

My favorite fall song is Bring Me Little Water, Sylvie because its so upbbeat and you can just sing full out to it. The song that is giving me the most struggle would have to me Hermosas becuase spanish isn't my strong suit so it can make it difficult learning it sometimes. One thing i'm improving on is my facial expressions when i sing and "getting into character" as what you would say in a stage production(; But some of the songs actually speak to you. My favorite song for fall concert was kawuno because of the upbeat rhythm and harmony that goes on between the whole choir. Hermosas was the most difficult song because you not only had to speak spanish but harmonize and sing the correct notes. It is a beautiful song! To be honest i only have time to sing in the shower so i sing my choir songs!!!!

I think things in choir are going really well right now. Everybody's starting to get excited from the first concert (which was really fun to be apart of) and we're all starting to see the things we're all capable of. I think I am improving by getting to know my voice a little better than I have in the past. Being in the soprano section last year was fun, but the alto parts are better for me to hit now. I find that I need to work on my breathing sometimes and sight reading. My favorite fall concert song was Water is Wide because near the end with the different harmonies and parts, it almost makes you wanna sit back and just watch. It's really incredible. I struggled with Free Ride a little with the dancing but also with being able to sing my best while dancing. Sometimes after class I get the songs stuck in my head, and that motivates me to practice.

My favorite fall concert song was Sylvie because I felt like we all blended really well, I could get into the song, and the guys all sounded really nicely.I struggled with Harmanas because I am not very good and speaking (let alone singing) a different language. I sing our songs in the shower and in my free time.

I think things in choir our going well for me, I love my pen pal! I think I have improved on reading the notes but I still need to work on my range. My favorite fall song would have to be Free Ride because it makes me feel happy when I sing it. The song I struggled the most with would be Hermosas because it's in Spanish so it's hard to read the lyrics. For practicing outside the classroom I usually play the song and sing along or look over the music notes.

Choir is going better than I expected. I see alot of improvement in people in my section, which influences me to improve myself. I think being around others who continuously work hard are the people that I enjoy being around and they make me want to be a better leader and person. I also think that I need to work on being more helpful to the people who don't understand how to site read and to do solfedge. If I can help them just a little each day, I know for a fact that they will be the bomb diggity once they reach their senior year. Its gonna take some time for some of them to learn but practice makes perfect. My favorite fall concert song was sylvie because I love hearing the positive energy from my section and seeing everyone getting into it. It's a soulful song, and everyone knows that I'm all about soulful music. I was struggling with the hermosas song because I honestly suck at spanish. And we had to sing spanish words really fast? Lord help me. But it wasn't as bad as I thought. We all still learned the song. One of the things that I do to help me get better is just sing all the songs that I remember. I could be at Burger King singing the Hermosas song or doing the free ride dance while making whoppers, and won't even realize it sometimes. And plus, I'm a visual learner and have had experience in choir, so it's a little easier for me to learn a song and sing the whole thing by the next day. With that skill, I go around my section and make sure that my section knows everything that I know because I don't want to leave them behind.

You rock! Thanks for being so helpful. I would encourage you to continue to be a strong presence in your section. I sometimes notice girls who seem lost or confused. Always have your eyes out to see how you can help. Thanks for all you do:)

Things in choir are going great. I am improving by asking my section leaders on things that I don't understand. I need to work on my pronunciation for Herrmosas. My favorite fall concert song would have to be Hermosas, this is my favorite because I love how we sound when we sing. I struggle with Hermosas, the pronounciation mainly but I still like the song. I sing our songs in my free time.

I've been doing well in choir so far. This year in choir, I have been learning more new ways to count notes that are more advanced, if you will, than in middle school. I still need to work on helping the other people in my section instead just knowing it myself and not spreading knowledge. My favorite fall concert song is Sylvie because of the soulful spirit and being able to really let go and sing my heart out. I struggle most with La Lluvia in Harmonics and really getting the timing right with the right phrases. Outside of class, I enjoy filling in solfege and singing the songs with friends.

So, how are things going in choir? How are you improving? What do you still need to work on? What is your favorite fall concert song and why? Which song are you struggling with and why? What do you do outside of class rehearsal time to help you get better and become a more productive choir member?

Choir so far for me is going awesome! I have improved over the term by writing out my lyrics numerous times, and by bringing my music home every once in a while and looking it over. I need to improve on my solfege, I can do this by asking more questions and taking out time to work on it. My favorite fall concert song was Sylvie, and my least favorite was hermosas. I was having trouble with hermosas because the pronunciation was hard for me comprehend, but by the performance I was well prepared with the piece and it went really well for me! Like I said before, I try to improve by writing my lyrics out, and bringing my music home to look over it.
