This time of year is so challenging. All of you have been working hard preparing for two major events simultaneously and I am very proud of you! We have so many different types of people in choir and everyone is here for a different reason; yet, in the end, we are all on the same team. Do you spend time trying to make choir great for others? Do you build them up? Do you encourage? Do you strive for greatness even when it may seem like you are the only one? Choir may not be a part of your life forever, but the dedication and devotion you show is a mark of great character. How can you strengthen your sense of commitment in choir to honor and support the members of your choir family?

Choir will be more fun when we are successful and all focused on getting better, not just going through the motions. You have a lot of talent and could be a leader if you could find a way. I believe in you!

Sadly, this is my last year in choir as I am graduating, but I want to leave a lasting good impression about this choir and showing how amazing it really is. To strengthen my sense of commitment in choir, I can do a lot of practicing outside of class to make sure I have everything memorized. In class, I will do my best to concentrate and pay attention so that I am learning all of the dances and singing all of the notes correctly. I will also try to make sure everyone around me is staying on task, as well.

I try to spend time making choir great for others by making them feel better and build theem up in happy ways like laughing and having fun but sometimes I misjudge when that is appropriate. I do need to working striving for greatness, I will often just sit and watch things move around me instead of moving forward with everything else which is not a good habit to obtain. I can strengthen my commitment by stiving for greatness and show my devotion by encouraging others and identifying when my talking is innapropriate.

I am anticipating this being my last year of choir. I am planning to take my third foreign language next year, though choir does brighten my day and allows me to grow as a person, which I believe is more important than anything. I try to bring a positive attitude to choir everyday, no matter how tired or frustrated I am with other things, and I hope that encourages the people around me to do the same. I could strengthen my sense of commitment to the choir by taking initiative with helping others who need it, and helping myself when I need it. I think often as humans we choose what is easy other than what is right, and I want to eradicate that from my habits in choir. I'm excited for festival, Pops, and the LA trip, and ready to take pride in the work we have all done to make our choir great.

choir is early, I'll admit I'm not 100% concentrated or dedicated at 8 in the morning. I personally don't focus too much on trying to be an example because I think for some it's misconstrued as though "I think I'm better than everyone else". I try to just have conversation and make a connection with other family members, I believe it will mean more to relate to them in some way.

I try to stay as positive as i can and trying to help others. And like Linnea said at eight in the morning sometimes its hard to concentrate. I try to help keep the people around me focused but sometimes its hard because people are rude to you when you try to get them be quiet and it just gets frustrating. It it gets frustrating when I'm dancing and singing my but off and I look behind me and there are people sitting down, on their phone and doing their hair. But i just keep on dancing because i know how much i want the concert to be good and i need to make up for the people who are slacking. And yes there are some days where even the most focused of us have off day. But some of the people its everyday and it gets old and frustrating. But i just try keep thinking about all the really dedicated people like Lena and Grace and it makes keep dancing and singing my butt off.

I believe that each and every choir member makes our choir what it is and that is why it builds us all together because we all put together the things that we are good at. I will try to affect everyone in a good way. It is sometimes hard to do what you have to do for example choreography not really my type of thing sometimes i have no idea what I am dancing. Never the less I do believe that we will be successful at our concerts.

I hope that I will do more to help build up other people and encourage them to do their best in class. I do spend some time trying to make the choir more enjoyable for others. I wish that I always shrived for greatness even when I'm the only one, but I don't and will try harder to do so. Choir means so much to me. I have been in it for six years and every year I am proud and impressed with what we are able to accomplish. I think that in order to contribute greatness to a choir, one must be committed and on task. Both can be difficult early in the morning. There are so many people in choir that it is difficult for everyone to be one hundred percent all the time. Even when people have bad days it's important to be committed to what we are doing as a choir. Everyday I try to be in the moment and give it my all as well as having my music memorized. I think that as long as people are dedicated to what we are doing and are practicing at home that we will be successful.

I have much dedication towards the choir. Being part of the choir counsel has been one of the things that I have been doing to contribute more to the choir in anyway that I can. Also, being part of Future Teachers has also been another opportunity that I have had to contribute more to the choir. In class, I help others who are struggling understanding the music. I find pleasure in helping others in those ways. I know, despite the efforts of others, there will be choir members who see the class as something to blow off or something of last priority for them, but their actions and even the negative things that they say about choir does not deter me from being who I am and expressing to others my love of choir. I know it can be frustrating when some students don’t seem to care or listen, but I know that each of us plays a part in the choir family, either big or small. There was something that drew each of us to be in choir in the first place. I hope that people come to notice, through my actions, that it is okay to love music and have an appreciation for the choir family and that we are truly one big family that is always there for eachother. I know that even after I graduate that choir and music itself will always be a part of my life. It is something that has kept me going during all of the struggles in my life. Many days when I am down, music and especially choir is what saves me from myself and all of the things that I deal with. I hope that those in choir will come to realize how much of a gift music is and also how much of a gift choir is. You continue to show us all of our possibilities as a family and you have never given up on us, even when things seem bleak. You see the untapped potential in us and we continue to grow through your teachings and your continued care and support. You are the reason that many of us have happiness in our lives and I know that you are certainly one of mine. Please continue to teach choir and thank you for never giving up on us.

This year I joined harmonics so that I could become a better and stronger singer. I know that I am getting there and since I am becoming stronger, I can spread that to other people to help them with their singing when they are struggling. I also feel like I am getting better at dancing for POPS and so I can help people with that too because it can be intense sometimes.

This year is my 4th year in choir and I have truly loved each and every year that I have been in choir. The older I get it seems like busier I become. Which is why its so important to really give 100%effort everyday during class, because its hard to make time and practice after school during the week due to our busy schedules. Especially now with us having festival and pops we have two things we need to practice and improve on. If we all try to really focus, listen and pay attention during class I have no doubt that we will do great at festival and at our pops concerts. I cant wait ;)

This is my first and last year of choir, as an exchange student I can say that it was a great decision to take choir as one of my classes, because it has taught me a lot of things, at the beginning I seriously thought that it was an easy class, just a bunch of people singing, but I can see all the hard work that all of us have put on it, sometimes is hard to focus because is first hour and I wish I could be sleeping at that time in the morning, but what a great way to start my day with singing, sometimes I'm so tired but I try to express the best I can and transmit my positive attitude to my other choir partners, all I can say is thank you for the great music and the teamwork

I try to give 100% every day! i think that we all strive for greatness in our own way! Some people more then others but we all are trying to make the choir one family. I can strengthen my sense of commitment in choir to honor and support the members of our choir family by always being there when someone needs help with parts in a dance or if someone just needs someone to talk too. I can always help to make people feel that there important to choir and support them whenever they need someone to talk to.

I always give do the best I can in choir, even when it's something I don't like. I know that I owe it to myself and the people around me. I do sometimes struggle though with not letting others' negativity get to me. It frustrates me when I'm working so hard and other people aren't. If you try to get them more involved, they just get mad so I can't really do anything to stop it, which also frustrates me. No matter what you do you can't make someone care, they have to find that within themselves. I think sometimes I spend too much time focusing on these people that I can't change instead of the awesome people that are always working hard. To be a better choir member, I need to redirect my focus and have a more positive outlook.

Each and every day I walk into choir I try my best to make it the most enjoyable experience for not only me but the entire family as well. Yes, we all have that one day where we are completely not on point and feel like the world is closing in on us, but that's what the choir family is for. We build each other up and encourage one another. When I'm having a bad day and I walk into that room it is unreal how fast my mood changes. As soon as I start singing with the group I can't help but feel happy and I know the choir has the same affect on others as well. To be even more committed to the choir, I can do anything and everything I can to make an impact on people's lives during that hour. I want to be able to turn people's day around by not only singing the music with them, but diving into it with them and exploring it's deeper meaning. I want to commit by being nothing but positive, making suggestions, and doing anything I can do that will benefit the choir. And even though we already have an amazing choir, if all of us had a positive outlook all the time and were committed 110% we would be unstoppable.

Each day in choir is always different and we all have the choice to work hard or just go with the flow. Everyone will always have a bad day every once in awhile, but something I can do to strengthen my commitment is to work even harder than I already am. I can give over 100% and hopefully others around me can catch on and work harder too. I can also make sure everyone is on board, so things aren't confusing for other members. I'm so proud of our choir for doing so amazing at festival! There was nothing that I would have changed about that day! As this year is quickly coming to an end, I am ready to work even harder, so we can finish off this year even better than all the others! :)

I try to use my own enthusiasm and excitement as a way to build others up. Positive energy is contagious so I try to give it to those around me. I want to make things like choreography more enjoyable for other people, so I think being a little silly and having fun while still doing what we're supposed to is a good way to do so. In order to strengthen my sense of commitment I can start giving more effort. I will honestly say that most of the time I give about 85% effort. If I try a little harder, I think it would help to improve myself as a person and create better habits. I would also be making a small improvement to the choir and hopefully motivating others to work a little harder as well.

Some people get agitated during rehearsal or maybe they're just having bad morning. I try to remind them how fun pops is going to be and how our hard work will pay off. I remind people that are having a rough morning to smile, even when they aren't feeling up to it. It helps you to get into a positive mood. It's easy when you're dancing to get into an excited mood, which other's will feed off of. Some mornings i may give 80% but other mornings i try to give it 100%. I think i'm saving my 110% for the night of the performances! I hope everyone encourages others in some sort of way to get positive vibes through everyone so we're all psyched for the show!

Each and every morning, I am overjoyed when I walk through the doors and begin singing. The rush that comes over me when I sing is indescribable and it is, as Kiernan explained, also insane how fast my mood can become more poitive by singing with our choir. I feel welcome in choir. I feel accepted for who I am. I feel able to make mistakes and learn and grow with the people in choir. Although, I am often reminded that choir is only a class for some people, it is most defnitely something more powerful than that to me. I can strengthen my commitment to the choir by attempting to help others be the best they can be. I would really like to focus the rest of this year, myself, on being welcoming and positive to everyone. When people feel welcome, they allow themselves to open up, which, in turn, opens up the choir and creates not only a better atmosphere, but a better choir. I often feel as though many people in choir are afraid to "come out of their shell" and sing or dance or help others because they are afraid of what others will think. I hope that those people will understand that we are all learning, we all make mistakes, none of us are perfect, and that the entire choir loves them. To strengthen my commitment to the choir, I will make the atmosphere as welcoming as I can. I also believe that it is extremely important to talk to others. I have been lately going out of my way to ask different people how they are and what is happening with them. This ongoing experiment has shown me that it only brings our choir upwards and makes the atmosphere more welcoming and more fun. I am going to continue to create this, as much as possible. :)

This time of year is very challenging for me, and it has been every year. With Pops, soccer, and the end of the marking period, I always feel a bit overwhelmed in the spring. I always love to see other people happy in choir, so I try my best to be uplifting. Even if it is simply with a smile, I hope for the sharing of my cheerfulness in the class. Our section of altos is always at work with learning and perfecting, so I find it easy to be a part of the greatness. Although that greatness may not be forever, I feel like the hard work and devotion will certainly stay with me. In order to help my personal commitment, I will offer assistance to those who I know are struggling. In the end, I hope that I can help make others as happy as I am in choir because it truly is a great feeling to have a great group to belong to.

The great thing about choir is thatmost everyone has the same goal, which is to be great. That is what makes this team awesome. I always try to make choir a fun environment for others by telling them they sang a piece well or did really well on that day's choreography, depending on what we did that day. I try to be great in choir and accomplish what is needed for the day and then more so I can be a role model for other students, even though it is hard sometimes when I think a teacher isn't watching. I try to stay on task, and when I realize that I am not, try to get myself and others around me back on task.To help strengthen my commitment to the choir family, I could try and attend out-of-school setups/cleanups/etc. to help the members of the choir family.

I try to make choir great for others and encourage and build them up, but I don't think I succeed at it all the time. Most likely because I'm trying to make myself the best I can be, so the focus is just shifted. I try my best to stay on task, and when I realize that I'm not, I try to get myself and others back into whatever we are doing, whether it's choreography or singing.I think that if I try a little harder, I think it would help with creating better habits and improving myself not only in choir but as a person.

I can't believe that this my last year of choir. It's been such an amazing experience for me. I want make a good impression when I leave. There is always room for improvement when it comes to commitment and making the choir better for everyone. Commitment definitely isn't easy. It takes a lot of practicing after class and during class, being prepared, focusing, listening and being aware of others around making sure that I'm being supportive and kind. I also have to help make sure that everyone around me is on task. I will try and practice more after class so I can get the dances all down completely and make sure all my parts are correct. I always try to bring a positive attitude to class I'm beyond excited for Pop's this year and am so glad that I could be a part of this amazing family.

I like to think that despite my depressing sense of humor, I don't tend to bring people down. So I'd say I'd just like to keep doing what I'm doing.

I try my best to make sure everyone is having a great time in choir. I go out of my way to say hello to others and ask them how they're doing, but I know sometimes people have down days, so I try not to be too pushy. I always strive to build people up and encourage them. I try to make sure everyone gets their chance to be front and center because sometimes an underclassman is amazing at singing and dancing, but afraid to say something about wanting to be in front because you don't want to sound too greedy. I try my best to always strive for greatness even if I see that other's are not. It kind of gets under my skin when I see people not singing or not dancing and I typically say something which has gotten me eyerolls and attitudes, but I truly do love each and every person in choir and I just want them to do everything that they are capable of. I can strengthen my sense of commitment in choir to honor and support the members of my choir family by understanding that everyone is in a different place in their lives as me, so sometimes it's not always easy to see where people are coming from when they do some things that they do, but at the end of the day, just being there to help people up when they're down and keep people up with they're happy.

I try to remind myself of the meaning of choir, which is different for everyone, and not always about singing. Someone made a place for me here at NM, so I want to try and make a place for others in the choir family, whatever that may look like...

I try my best to make choir fun for everyone and to encourage and build others up. I don't always strive for greatness, I am normally just going through the motions. Although this is my last year in choir to strengthen my commitment I can bring a positive attitude to class and try to always stay focused.

I love choir because I have friends that make choir fun and I think I make it fun for them. Other than that I don't talk to other kids in choir. I think I'm going to start going out of my way to make choir great for kids other than just my friends who I already know.

The one person I thought of was Grace when I read these questions. She makes me much happier in the morning. Attitudes are contagious, and Grace is always optimistic. I do my best, thus encouraging others around me to do their best. This is my way of building others up and encouraging them to do and be their best. I strive for greatness no matter the circumstances because nothing can persuade me to not be the best I can be. I can strengthen my sense of commitment by dedicating more time to practice and continuing to be the best I can be.

I feel that people probably think I am a mean person because of the look on my face but I really am not. I am one of the sweetest people and I love making people happy and making them smile. I think I could do a better job of making it great for others but I am just so shy. I always make sure that I am on task and not a distraction to others and I know how stressful it can be when people are being a distraction. I try my very best to build people up and encourage them! Always telling them good job and keep up the good work. I do strive for greatness in choir..there are many days when I just want to sit down and take a break because I have so much going on but I know other people are working their butts off and they're under just as much stress so who am I to just give up? I can strengthen my commitment in choir by making sure that I just give my all everyday and come to all the rehearsals and give as much time as everyone else does or more.

When I am in the choir room I try to smile and be nice to everyone. You never know what someone is going through so it is important to be a positive influence. I try to strive for greatness everyday even on the bad days. Sure sometimes I am tired or sad but that's no excuse to be mean or hateful to my peers. All in all choir wouldn't be the same without the incredible people in it. So I try to be incredible every day for my choir family!

I do spend some time trying to make choir great for other people. I'll admit i don't go way out of my way but if someone has a really good solo or is doing a dance really well I'll tell them. Choir is really early in the morning and having just woken up less than an hour before it's hard to give 100% everyday but I do try. I could make my commitment better by practicing at home.

I try my hardest to make choir fun for others, but struggle at times because I am having a difficult time enjoying myself. I am under a lot of stress and am trying to be positive, but that doesn’t always work. I will try my best to encourage and strive for greatness, but am struggling currently to find happiness like I have been the past 6 years. I am excited for Pops and the excitement is growing with the coming few days, so I hope seeing everyone and being encouraging as the show quickly approaches helps with my stress. Choir will always be a part of me, and I am so happy that I have been able to be a part of such a great group.

When I think about the greatness of choir that has instilled in me, I think about all f the positive people who have helped me blossom into the young lady that I am today. As you may know, choir is not just a class for me, it's a place that I have always felt like I was excepted in. So since choir has given me that sense of feeling, I've always tried t make everyone else feel excepted. We don't necessarily know what kind of problems that people are going through, so the least that I could do is encourage people by telling them that they did a good job, or saying that they look nice. Just simple things can make someone's day so much better. Everyday that I've been in choir, I've always put in a lot of effort into what I do. If i'm going through personal problems, I put it in the songs that I sing. I also try t set a good example fr everyone in choir because I understand that when people are having a bad day, they don't want to do anything or participate. Throughout my 7 years of being in choir, I realized that sometimes we have to soak it up and push through it, even when we're not at our best. Doing your best even when you don't feel like it is one of the keys to being successful. As my time in choir is slowly coming to an end, I feel as if that I did my best to set an example and help others stay on the right track. My section for example, has definitely improved from the beginning of the year until now, and i don't think that it's because of me. Some of them actually have a lot of heart t want to become better and I couldn't have been more proud.

I try hard to make choir the best experience for me and others. Even though some days it is hard for me to be positive because other things at going on in my life... I try to have a positive attitude for choir because when I do it cheers me up and gives me hope and motivation. Although sometimes it may not seem like it choir is a huge part of me and without it I wouldn't be the person I am today... Singing is one of my favorite aspects of life and is my escape from my troubles, and choir has always been there to help me pursue my singing. Pops was an awesome experience and I already can't wait for next year! A million Thank yous to you Mrs. Slimko for everything you do you push us to be the best of what we can be and you set a great example of what hard work and dedication looks like!

My freshman year, I was lucky to get along with and know the juniors and seniors inside and outside of choir. People like Alex Benham and Thayer Lowe made my freshman cross year amazing, Charles Pitcher and Jacob Berends made me lol at least once a minute on the alpine club bus. In choir, people like Curtis Taylor, Berge, Marshall, Bruce, and others made my freshman year awesome. But I noticed a disconnect between the young and old over my sophomore and junior years. I strive to include everyone, so that all are doing their best and having fun. I also feel the need for everyone to have somebody to talk to, in both common, and hurtful times.

Because my singing ability is less than excellent (which is perfectly fine with me), I try to help the choir to the best of my ability. I'm good at dancing and I am good at memorizing choreography, so when people need help with steps and whatnot, I try to help as best as I can. I enjoy helping with choreography, so I always try to keep a positive attitude when I help or when people ask questions. Dancing isn't easy for everyone. I enjoy helping and I love when it finally clicks for someone.

I try to give my all everyday in choir even when I'm tired but sometimes it's really hard. I don't always encourage others but I never bring them down. I can strengthen my commitment to choir by being there in the moment and not worrying about other things when I'm there.
