standards/Grades
Assessments on standards will include formative assessments during rehearsals, reflection sheets, google voice exams, HS blog posts and summative assessments during performances. Students will be given feedback on their formative assessments in order to guide their progress.
Vocal/Instrumental Skills & Knowledge
1. Sing warm-up exercises and songs focusing on proper vocal technique, balance/blend, intonation, and breath support.
2. Sing given part in all sections of the varied repertoire on pitch and with proper diction and appropriate expression.
Musicianship Skills & Knowledge
3. Accurately perform sight-singing exercises containing variety of solfege syllables/patterns.
4. Accurately perform sight-singing exercises containing a variety of notes/rests/rhythmic patterns.
5. Identify and understand music/choir terminology.
Ensemble Skills & Knowledge
6. Demonstrate proper rehearsal and performance etiquette.
7. Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of their own and others’ performances, both informally in rehearsals and formally at concerts.
